Last night was sweet...there's an open mic at the Stood (student center) every Wednesday and this time pretty much all my friends played. Check out Sports-> [link] sirs-> [link] I decided at the last minute that I would perform something I'd never tried and had no idea if it would work. It worked and will be better next time.

It's kind of hard to explain what I did but I used my laptop for beats which I distorted using my Edirol UA-4FX thingy. I kinda made a vocal loop but not the way people usually make loops with my Boss ME50-B multieffects pedal, did some weird singing on top of that, changed the beat around, played guitar which I kinda fucked up cuz I forgot to tune it first ;] but I tuned it in the middle of playing and it worked out ok. I was in too much of a mad scientist frenzy to fingerpick very well but it got better. I then turned the vocal loop into a sort of ambient guitar thingy, chilled out the beat, read a poem in time with the beat with an octave up effect on my voice, proceeded to scream into the loop dramatically and eventually turned that and the beat into completely obliterated slightly rhythmic noise and ended it.

I will do this again and I will do it better. I'm still surprised it worked out at all.
